Thanks for the comment, Maha! For this course now I got them to do assignments on assessment evaluation and design, which hopefully helps them in their work as teachers and assessment designers. As teachers in school, however, the most powerful force (IMO) that they are coming up against is the national exams, which are traditional and not authentic. When authenticity and other assessment topics came up in class, that was always a strong undercurrent in the discussions.

I'm very fortunate to have this opportunity to teach teachers about assessment, and in writing this, I realised that as much as possible I'd like them to experience heutagogical learning and learn the associated assessment literacy/ies. I suppose in blogging for #rhizo15 etc I'm trying to experience it for myself in a more consciously reflective way.
